Introduction
When I was first exposed to flight mode, I assumed that it was a feature that was only useful on a plane. I later on understood that it’s just another way of saying airplane mode, a feature that deactivates the use of mobile data, cellular calls, and text messages and other forms of communication.
If that is the case, it is no longer a mystery for you as to how to use the Internet with flight mode on. For the purpose of this post, I will explain how you can use your cellphone’s airplane mode and still been able to enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to browse the internet, stream videos, and remain connected with your friends and family.
What Is The Purpose Of Flight Mode, And What Is It Exactly?
A phone setting that pauses all wireless communication at once is a flight, or airplane, mode. In simpler terms:
- Mobile data is now disconnected.
- You cannot make calls and receive SMS.
- By default, wi-fi and Bluetooth functionalities are also off.
You are, however, free to switch on Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. This is helpful in situations where you want to:
- Save battery time.
- Avoid distraction.
- Set Wi-Fi to operate with no disturbances from phones.
- Use Bluetooth.
It is, however, not restricted to flights. You can use it at any time you want to avoid cellular signals.
